The village lies in North Lancashire, near the south end of the Parish of Over Kellet, on a gentle hillside facing South Lakeland, Silverdale and Morecambe Bay. It is a compact community of less than 1000 inhabitants, with a well blended mix of traditional stone built houses and post-war dwellings. Carnforth is the nearest town just one and a half miles to the west on the B6254, which links Carnforth with Kirkby Lonsdale in the Lune Valley. |
