E. LEISURE AND ENTERTAINMENT

The responses to this section of the questionnaire indicate that the existing facilities for leisure and entertainment within the village are very popular, with the activities at the Village Hall being the most well attended.

The question as to whether the Parish provides all the facilities necessary for families proved to be very enlightening in that it showed a complete lack of leisure facilities for teenage members of the Parish and reasonably adequate facilities for the pre-school, junior, family, middle aged and senior citizens.

For many years, requests have been made to various authorities for a play area for younger children and a playing field for the older, more active children.  This Appraisal has proved that these are still the highest priority for leisure and entertainment in the Parish.

Other comments/requests were for a youth club, 60s social/luncheon club, yoga classes, cubs, scouts and guides, tennis court, bowling green, evening classes and young wives group.  Some of these are viable requests whilst others, due to high capital outlay, are not.  However each one should be considered by the Village Hall Committee/Parish Council for implementation.
