ABOUT THE VILLAGE / PARISH
B. HOUSING AND GROWTH
In general terms, 50% of residents were against any further housing development, although 28% did favour limited infill housing with a further 4% opting for larger greenfield development.
A total of 10 persons had moved from the Parish due to lack of suitable housing and at present 12 persons are looking for housing within the Parish. The main proportion of houses required are starter and family homes and a lower proportion for sheltered and handicapped, either to be bought or rented. The main preference in size is for 3 bedrooms.
In view of the number of persons looking for housing, one respondent's comment, that any suitable housing which became available should be made available first to locals rather than outsiders', would be applauded.
For several years now the limitation on housing growth has been the capacity of the sewerage system and because of this, only limited infill development can be accommodated. |
