SPORTS ACTIVITIES

The Village Hall was substantially rebuilt in 1998, with many grants including ‘21st Century Halls for England’ Millennium (one of only 2 in Lancashire), Lancashire Environmental Fund and European funding and gifts (£230K) 

It is very well used by many organisations and groups and is run by a Trustee Management Committee. There is a ‘200 Club’ for chances to win £25, £15, and £10 monthly. It was also awarded Millennium funding to set up Computing facilities for the village.

Regular Activities which take place in the Hall and are available to any (in the right age group) are:-

Indoor Bowling, Scottish Dancing, Playgroup, Toddlers Group, Short Tennis, Junior Badminton (9 – teenage), O.K. Club, Badminton, and the Women’s Institute.

The hall is also used regularly by or for:-

Galloways Blind Welfare Society, Lunesdale Doll’s House Group, Over Kellet and District Horticultural Society, The Lancaster Canal Trust, Horse Management Training, Diving Training as well as coffee mornings run by these many organisations.

This attractive Hall is available for hire to outside groups for any activities including christenings, weddings, funerals, birthday parties, special wedding anniversaries, craft fairs, coffee mornings, car boot sales, lectures, slide shows, film shows, small group meetings (up to 20) or larger group meetings (up to 124).

The seats are comfortable and there are plenty of tables. An overhead projector and large screen are available in both small and large halls and complete blackout is available. If required a slide projector can be provided. There is a stage and kitchen facilities are included. Why not check it out for your next party, event or festival?


Over Kellet Village Hall won the 'Best Kept Community Building in Lancashire' in 2004 and 2007!
