Re Cleminson family: My gr gr gr grandmother, Eleanor (known as Ellen) Cleminson was baptised on 1st Feb 1812 at St Cuthbert's. Her parents were William and Jane Cleminson. William is shown as an innkeeper's joiner (or innkeeper & joiner) on the transcription I have obtained from the Lancs Record Office. I understand she had 3 older siblings: James, Thomas Singleton and Mary. I have just come across your fantastic web site today and wonder if there are any old school or employment records for the family?

my dad was born in village 1889 the name was Grosse. we are staying in same in early may and hoped that someone might know about them my grans name was Platt also born there.
